The illustrious Mendoza clone Chardonnay was planted 1992 to a gentle east facing slope right next to Block 3. Grapes are whole bunch pressed and gravity fed to seasoned French oak for a wild indigenous yeast vinification. Ferments remain in barrel for a long and languid sixteen months maturation. A multi dimensional Chardonnay in the well established, mouth filling style of Central Otago. The palate is where it all becomes more serious with an array grilled nut and baked goody flavours, the deep schist soils of Block 2 are conspicuous and up front in the lengthy mineral finish.

The highly precious, single block of fully mature vines yields a meagre crop of extraordinary Riesling grapes, the parched berries are ripened to perfection by the clear skies and frigid climes, forming an indulgence of profound esters and intense flavours. Within the golden triangle of Gundagai, Murrumbateman and Tumbarumba, you'll find some of the most auspicious viticulture on earth. Eden Road have assembled the best barrels Chardonnay from the distinguished Courabyra and Maragle vineyards, a mere 400 cases are made each vintage. Delicate handling, a repose on sedimentery yeast lees and judicious exposure to oak, have infused beautiful creamy mouthfeel, ripe varietal acidity and luxurious slate minerality. Canberra may be the chilliest city on the mainland but it also yields vintages of remarkable, world class wines. Riesling vines love the chilly, crisp and cloudless Murrumbateman skies, stimulated to yield parcels of the most intensely flavoured, ripe and complex fruit. Grapes are all hand picked and whole bunch pressed, cold settled and racked off gross sediments for vinification and a term of repose on fine lees. Inscrutably clean, elegant and refined, a suggestion of tropicality, lychees and lime, supported by the luxury of mineral and chalky, winsome aplomb.

Bernard Dugat is a thirteenth generation winegrower. Domaine Dugat-Py retain ten hectares of the most superior blocks in all of Le Vignoble de Bourgogne, even the youngest vines are fifty or sixty years of age. Viticulture is completely biodynamic and fully organic, all work is done by hand, except for those duties which are best carried out by a horse. The finished Morgeot Blanc is treated to eighteen or twenty months maturation in completely new oak, a mere few hundred bottles are produced each year.

Towards the southwest of Chassagne-Montrachet, alongside Route de Santenay, lies the Abbaye de Morgeot. Domaine Dugat-Py retain a very small part of the elite Climat at Morgeot but the quality of fruit is without peer. Managed to the same holistic viticultural techniques which would have been employed when the ancient Abby was built, the limestone clay soils yield one of the greatest white wines in the world, to be treated to an extended maturation in completely new French oak barrels from the cooperage of François Frères.
